Biker injured in road accident

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg after an accident in Burnley this afternoon.

The biker, who police say is in his twenties and was riding a Peugeot motorbike, was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo car at around 1-30pm today.

The accident happened around the Florence Avenue and Venice Avenue area and the man was subsequently transported by paramedics to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The roads where the accident happened were closed for a couple of hours for the police's accident investigation team.
