A global charting band who once played for US President Barack Obama have released a single to celebrate Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League.

The Corrigan Brothers, the Irish folk band who had an international hit with “There’s No-one as Irish as Barack Obama” have now penned “Burnley Are Back Where They Belong”.

Originally called Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys, the band consists of brothers Ger, Brian and Donnacha Corrigan from Castletroy, County Limerick.

The brothers who have amassed tens of millions of Youtube hits were inspired to write the song for Burnley by their Burnley cousins Billy and Des Foley.

Guitarist Brian said: “Our Burnley cousins the Foleys are very serious Clarets fans and we felt we should celebrate Burnley’s return to where they belong, the Premier League, in song.”

The brothers plan to visit their cousins for the first home game of the new Premier League season and Brian added: “We will have a few pints and sing a few songs.”

The song will be released on April 29th.
