FIRE tore through a Burnley garage after arsonists torched a car inside.

Police and firefighters are now investigating the incident which happened at 6-10 p.m. yesterday. Crews from Burnley fire station spent around two hours at the scene in Cog Street, South-West Burnley.

They said a Vauxhall Zafira had been set alight with flames then spreading to the roof of the commercial garage.

Firefighters managed to stop the fire spreading to nearby properties. They had to force their way in through a small roller shutter door at the side of the building.
