A BLAZE broke out at a problem-plagued former Padiham mill last night.
Flames were spotted coming from Perseverence Mill at 9 p.m. by regulars at the nearby Shakespeare Pub who raised the alarm.
Firefighters spent more than an hour bringing the blaze under control which began in one of the disused buildings at the back of Wytham Street.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but angry neighbour believe it was started deliberately.
Pensioner Pat Morris, who lives in nearby Albion Street, said: “This place seems like a magnet for trouble. We are sick of it. It is going to take someone to have a serious accident for something to be done about it.”
