A woman from Burnley has donated a large number of boxes, filled with food, toiletries, and other essentials, to the Salvation Army.

Alexa Lupton (28), who works as a nursery practitioner at Taywood Nursery, decided on the goodwill gesture after seeing adverts and social media posts about those who are alone or homeless over the festive period.

She said: “I just thought it would be a good idea to collect some things and donate them, because not everyone can is as fortunate as some of us.”

Alexa was helped by Taywood Nursery and Rosegrove Infants School who donated some goods, and all together collected four large boxes, as well as eight carrier bags and several smaller boxes.

Alexa added: “It felt good to be able to help, especially at this time of year.”
