"Big Phil's Young Guns", the team of Phil, Anthony and Tommy Patton and Neil Jackson, had a nett 56.8 to win the Texas Scramble at Towneley.
"Tommy Daggers" – Tommy Fallows, David Lavin, Ken Pickering and D. Spook – returned 58.5 for second spot and nearest-the-pin prizes went to Jim Fitton and Bob Shaw.

A card play-off was needed to decided the outcome of the last midweek stableford of the season.

Jimmy Robertshaw came out on top from Geoff Hurst and Ian Howarth after the trio had all amassed 38 points.

On Sunday, the Todmorden Road club played host to Bacup in their annual match.

The match ended tied 4½-4½ with Bacup retaining the trophy by virtue of having won the 2007 contest.

Home members birthday boy Kenny Ingham and his grand-dad Jimmy Robertshaw had the day's biggest win as they chalked up a 6 and 5 success.
