THE Payne Stewart Memorial Society not only looked the part ... they also delivered the winning score in the ever-popular Am-Am at Burnley Golf Club.
The three-time major winner who died tragically in 1999 was renowned for his sartorial elegance, his wide range of "plus fours" becoming Stewart's trademark.

And on Sunday Dane Harrison, Sam Taylor, Michael Horne and Darren Hazelgrove replicated that sartorial style and then produced an eight-shot win in the event.

Their combined 105 points put the efforts of the Central Sheet Metal team of Ray Scaife, P. Smith, David Scaife and Andrew Samuels in the shade as they returned 97 points for second spot.

Kavia, the team of Harvey Spence, G. Smith, John Sinclair and Michael Duerden were third with 94 points.

And the four Amigos – C. Adams, A. Higson, T. Henderson and D. Preston-Walker – took fourth spot a point further adrift.

The remaining prizes were taken by Donald Race and Newton – S., S. and T. Newton and David Lawson; Spartacus plus three – K. George, P. Doherty jnr, P. Doherty snr and A. Riley; Comps – L. Corns, P. Hanson, S. Murphy and M. Wills; Famous Grouse – M. Green, I. Owens, T. Clarke and S. Kendall; Lloyd Lewis and Team – L. Lewis, G. Clarke, J. Hilton and J. Hazelwood.
