Following Saturday's washout at Towneley, the finals of the Captain's and Rabbits' knockouts were contested on Sunday thanks to the efforts of the greenkeeping staff.
Teenager Tommy Patton came up against the experienced Steve Turner in the Captain's Final.

And the 16-year-old produced some outstanding golf to win the game 7 and 6.

The Rabbits Final was between the in-form Colin Cavanagh and the evergreen Peter Witt.

It was no surprise when Cavanagh maintained his form with an emphatic 7 and 5 win – and it is possible he may well receive another visit from the handicapping committee.

The midweek stableford was an extremely close-run affair with three players amassing 39 points.

Winner, after a consultation of cards, was Alan Kelly, just pipping Neil Jackson with the luckless David Hall in third place.

On Friday a full day's golf was enjoyed by 20 council members and associates as a reward for their efforts in running the club.

The morning Texas Scramble saw captain Alex Aspden, Stewart Bird and Neil and Peter Jackson return a gross 28, a score which the other teams could not even match with their nett efforts!

The afternoon fourball was won by treasurer John Buchanan and former secretary and captain Nigel Clark with an incredible 47 points, beating three other teams by one point.
