SEAN Brearley had a hole-in one during the course of the 39th Municipal Trophy at Marsden Park Golf Club.
He "aced" the par-three, 192-yard seventh hole and that helped the 19-handicapper to second place in the 19-28 category.

Overall winner of the re-arranged event was Drew Melville with a score of 73-7-66.

Prizes in the 0-9 category were won b y Martin Davies (73-5-68), Adam Fothergill (72-4-68) and Trevor Dickinson (70-2-68).

Tony Kvedavas (82-14-68) led them home in the 10-18 division, ahead of Craig Watson (79-10-69) and Glyn Dale (83-13-70) while prizes in the 19-28 category went to James McLeod (89-23-66), Brearley and Hedley Dransfield (89-21-68).

Andrew Pinder carded 73 to win the gross prize, as David Whitaker won the nearest-the-pin award.

Margaret Frankland (94-24-70) won the ladies' prize by four shots from Ann Wardley.

The previous day, James Middleton carded a round of 87-22-65 to emerge as the runaway winner of the Medal Final.

Michael Brandwood (88-17-71) was runner-up after a card play-off with Philip Smith (80-9-71).

Martin Davies (72-5-67) won the subsidiary event by four shots from Neil Smith (82-11-71), with Kevin Killeen (89-17-72) in third place.
Margaret Frankland (100-24-76) won the Founder Member's Rosebowl ahead of Eva Pinder (111-27-84) and Janet Kelly (110-22-88).

Entries are now being accepted for the re-arranged Memorial Trophy at Marsden Park which was postponed last month.

The event, open to both men and ladies, will now take place on Sunday, October 19th, and further details are available by ringing the golf shop (661912).
