Clitheroe Golf Club's one handicap star Andrew Heesom is off to college in America.
And he is sure to impress if he maintains his present form.

In Saturday's Stableford, he produced five birdies in his 40 points total to claim the Division One prize.

The La Manga connection, in the shape of Derrick Eglin, had a strong finish with four pars but failed to catch Heesom, falling one shot off the pace with 39 points for second prize.

Keith Allen and Miles Wade both returned 38 points, and even though Wade finished with a birdie, Allen took third spot courtesy of his better back nine.

Paul Dunlop's solid 20-20 points score for a total of 40 relegated Brian Stokes to the runners-up spot in Division Two.

Stokes looked favourite after 16, but two bogeys to finish cost him the crown by one shot.

Ken Mantle and Mike Ainworth both produced respectable 37 points, and Mantle took third place after cards.

Sunday's Fourball saw a refreshing array of new names on the leaderboard.

Philip Walker teamed up with Tom Nutter to come out on top after a three-way card play-off on 44 points.

Paul Nightingale and Peter Bodie were happy to settle for second place, ahead of Mike Fearnhead and Mark Jeffrey on the same score.
