Lisa wins Lady Captain's Day
LADIES at Burnley Golf Club battled valiantly against the elements in Julie Clarke's Lady Captain's Day on Friday.
In driving wind and rain, Lisa Wilson carded a very creditable 83-12-71 to emerge as the clear winner and earn a handicap reduction.
Gill Cole (86-11-75) was runner-up and Isobel Scaife (87-9-78) finished third.
Debbie Jackson won the Howarth Putter after a card play-off with Sandra Eardley as both completed their rounds with just 31 putts and Karen Hopwood was nearest the pin in two at the 18th hole.
Eileen Bainbridge won the Rabbits Prize over eight holes and the bridge competition was won by Janice Lee and Pat Steel with Ida Traynor and Audrey Edmundson the runners-up.
