JUNIOR captain Craig Waddington led by example as Nelson went top of the Pendle Junior Summer League.
At Colne on Friday, he scored 43 points for the day's best individual return.

Whalley's William Lancaster scored 41 and Callum Beaty of Ghyll was the other leading individual with 40.

Waddington helped Nelson amass 188 points to finish 12 clear of Whalley.

Ghyll were next on 169, former leaders Marsden Park scored 161 and the other scores were Colne (160), Burnley (133) and Towneley (93).

With one game to go, Nelson are now top of the table with 1,092 points.

That sees them well clear of Marsden Park (1,072) and Colne (1,055).

Further down the table are Burnley (980), Ghyll (972), Whalley (945) and Towneley (920).
