THE first leg of the annual Colne-Ghyll Mixed Fourball took place at Ghyll on Monday.
The home side, the current holders of the trophy, accumulated 399 points to Colne's 343 to take a 56-point advantage into the second leg to be played at Colne in August.

From the 24 pairs competing, Ghyll's Colin and Anne Maud were top of the tree with 40 points on a card play-off from the team of Bob Presland, the 2008 Ghyll Captain, and Ingrid Massie, while the duo of Derick Hartley and Eileen Chapple returned 38 points for the home side.

John and Sue Burgoyne (37), David and Anne Black (36),and Peter Wilson and Betty Taylor (36) impressed for the visitors.
