THE weather may have washed out most of the action and Nelson and Colne Golf Clubs.
But low-scoring was definitely the order of the day at Marsden Park in the Fourth Medal where both Gary Tongue and Michael Whalley shot nett 63.

Tongue (75-12-63) led them home in the 0-12 Division by a shot from Wayne Jolly (71-7-64). David Perks (74-8-66) was third and Trevor Dickinson carded 69 for the gross prize.

And Whalley was the clear winner in the 13-18 Division.

His round of 78-15-63 was good enough to win by five shots from Andrew Frankland (83-15-68) with Martin Heap (85-15-70) in third place.

The 19-28 Division saw James Middleton (92-24-68) win by a shot from Stewart Smith (93-24-69) as Dave Beckett came home in third place after returning 89-19-70.

Lady members were also in action in the Fourth Medal and Julie Hargreaves (92-14-68) won after a card play-off with 36-handicapper Michelle Lingard.

Janet Kelly (101-22 -79) was third ahead of Jane McGregor (91-10-81).
