JUNIOR captain Dominic Clough won the prestigious Rosebowl at Towneley on Sunday.
Despite terrible conditions, Clough returned an incredible nett 62 to win by two shots.

And the runner-up in the open event was his proud dad, Chris, who took second spot by a shot from Burnley GC's Ian Searle.

The Glen View club took all three places in the gross competition for the Municipal Cup.

Tim Clarke (69) won by two shots from Carl Parker and Andy Riley and nearest-the-pin awards went to home member Andy Swindells and Simon Brookes of Burnley.

Club captain Alec Aspden and president Ken Pott were on hand to present the prizes.

And special thanks were again expressed to greenkeeper Damien Hartley and his staff for working miracles to get the course fit for competitive play.

Organiser Steve Bird also thanked Gary Collinson, Steve Wyatt, Stewart Bird and Andrew Miller for their help on the day.

Collinson won the Towneley Trophy the previous day with an excellent score of 77-10-67.

Anthony Patton (77-9-68) was runner-up with club steward Ronnie Catlow (82-13-69) third and the winner's brother, Noel (86-17-69) in fourth spot.

The subsidiary competition was won by Scotsman Ian Ponton with 41 points.

That saw him finish two shots clear of R. Phillips and Steed Slater while nearest-the-pin awards went to former Burnley United striker Leon Barnett and veteran James Dugdale.
