GHYLL Golf Club hosted a charity day Texas Scramble on Saturday on behalf of Daniel Yorath House, a clinic in Leeds, which specialises in brain injury rehabilitation.
Steve Nicholas, a long-standing Ghyll member, has recently benefited from the treatment he had received there on his recovery from a serious road accident.

His golfing friends, led by Tony Turner and David Walling, were very keen to support the clinic's outstanding work.

A full field of four-man teams took part in the 22 hole event with every hole sponsored by local businesses, neighbouring golf clubs and Stephen's many friends. Around £2,500 has been raised so far.

Lee Devenport, Sheldan Pickles, David Pease, and Andrew Smith returned a score of 56.6 to take first prize, while Clifford Hillary, Sean Nutter, Peter Beresford, and David Bellwood (57.6) were second ahead of the quartet of John Blackmore, Neil Bowditch, Carl Hillary and Jonny Schofield (57.9)

Robin Chapman, Brian Chapman, Brian Strickland and Steve Sharp combined to return a two-under par score of 10 on the four par three holes.
