THE last two places in Saturday's Champion of Champions event at Mytton Fold Golf Club were confirmed at the weekend.
The Bill Almond Memorial Trophy was contested on a sunny Sunday in the Ribble Valley.

David Halsall topped the scoresheet with 45 points, two ahead of Peter Fox.

And the pair are now eligible to enter the Champion of Champions event, open only to club members who have finished in the first two leading positions in a club competition in the current year.

The Duffers Cup, held on the same day, offers other members a chance to shine.

Tony Wilson (40) took third place on Sunday, with Tony Cross finishing fourth with 38 points.

Division One winner was Ray Standring (38 points), while Peter Main (37) took Division Two.

Lady captain Linda Clegg won the ladies' section with 40 points, four points clear of Doreen Hammond, and nine ahead of Maureen Board.

Harry Crossley took the junior section with a winning score of 33 points.

Mytton Fold Seniors, meanwhile, have achieved their best-ever placing in the H. Rigg Properties-supported North West Senior Golf League, finishing in a strong third place.
