CLUB captain Alan Green enjoyed a packed weekend at Burnley Golf Club.
The weekend started in traditional fashion with the Captain's Shootout.
The captain, club professional Matt Baker and eight of the club's leading players battled it out over nine holes, with one dropping out on each hole.

The last two on the course were Harold Ryden champion Gary Blades – who also won the play-off with Graham Howarth for the Shuttleworth Cup – who beat Andy Riley on the 18th green to win the prize.

Captain's Day itself saw Stuart Nunn (76-9-67) take top spot by a shot from both Neil Holt (78-10-68) and Steve Greenaway (73-5-68).

Nearest-the-pin prizes went to Ross Harrison and Stuart Nunn, Robert Taylor (82-12-70) was the pick of the over 60s and Charlie Bullas (88-16-72) returned the best score by a former captain.

Debbie and Alistair Horrocks and Ray and Isobel Scaife amassed 88 points to win the Captain's Team Event by two points from the team of Michael Duerden, Roger and Harvey Spence and Sylvia Newton with nearest-the-pin prizes going to D. Whittaker and Michael Hunt.

And Michael Noonan won the beat-the-captain's score prize as the day was rounded off with a performance by Rock Stewart in the clubhouse.
