In the Ghyll Senior Men's Open, Peter Walker and David Kemp (Woodhall Hills) returned 48 points to win the event in convincing style.
Walker, not content with a birdie two on the 173-yard par-three County Brook hole on the front nine, went one better on the back nine to record a hole in one!

Ghyll's Doug Pickering partnering Jim McIlroy (Upholland GC) took second place on the card with 46 points from the Ghyll pairing of Ian James and Andy Wilkinson.

With the weather set fair and holding greens, almost a fifth of a large field managed to break par at Ghyll on Sunday.

Bill Aitken (72-7-65) excelled them all, but needed a card play-off to become the second holder of the Slater Centenary Trophy from Mick Boardman (71-6-65), who topped Division One.

Kevin Fletcher (78-11-67) took the Division Two prize on the card from the in-form Tyke Neil Mosley (80-13-67), while Paul Barnes (90-22-68) was the pick of Division Three.
