MARSDEN Park were unlucky to narrowly miss out on the ELGA Handicap Trophy at Darwen Golf Club on Saturday.
Michael King led the way with a fantastic score of 64 nett to claim the best individual score of the day.

But the team of King, Adrian Lingard, Nigel Charlton and Ian Davieson were narrowly beaten into second spot by Accrington Golf Club.

Back at Marsden Park and the second qualifier for the Medal Final was played in hot and humid conditions with the scoring matching the weather.

In the 0 to 12 category, Barry Holden (76-12-64) narrowly won from Martin Davies (70-5-65) and Steven Shepherd (78-12-66) with the best gross going to Danny Murphy with a 72.

The 13-18 category was a very tight affair, with Mark Shepherd (83-17-66) winning to complete a family double, Martin Shaw (83-16-67) found his form to finish second, with third going to Ernie Buksh (86-18-68) on the card.

And in the 19-28 category, it was business as usual, with Sean Brearley (90-23-67) winning again from Alan Parkinson (90-21-69) and Graeme Johnson (89-20-69).
