A FANTASTIC showcase of eco-arts and crafts has brought a historic Burnley hall bursting into life.

A dragon chainsaw sculpture, eco-art paintings, a traditional yurt structure and even a beekeeping exhibit are among displays at Towneley Hall.

The free exhibition is a taste of work produced by artists at the international award-winning Offshoots Permaculture Project run by Groundwork Pennine Lancashire.

The Offshoots Project is a community garden situated in the old walled garden in Towneley Park and is a training centre for traditional skills and crafts, including beekeeping, green woodworking and willow weaving.

Coun. John Harbour, Burnley Council’s Executive Member for Leisure and Culture said: “We are justifiably proud of Towneley Hall and the incredible variety of exhibitions it offers, on top of being a beautiful Hall and museum.

“This latest exhibition also promotes the hidden treasures within Towneley Park, of which the Offshoots project is one such example.”

The exhibition will run until December 20th and is free to Burnley residents, children and students.
