‘Burnley’s Got Talent: come on down!

ASPIRING singers, cheeky comics and marvellous magicians are once again showcasing their skills in the second Burnley’s Got Talent competition.

The huge talent contest, featuring the young and old, the weird and whacky, opened last week with the first heat at Koko’s bar in Elizabeth Street.

Alongside an array of talented singers, the audience at the opening audition were also entertained by none other than a dog magician!

In a different format from last year, there will be just two audition rounds this time with the second being this evening at 7-30pm.

The judging panel, which included organiser Raynor Pepper, 2BR’s Jason Hardy and the Burnley Express’ Dominic Collis, voted through 20 acts to the new boot camp stage.

There will be no audience at boot camp and the acts will perform for the judges, who will decide who makes it through to the voting process.

After the voting, two acts from each category will be put through to the live show at the Burnley Mechanics theatre.

A second twist is the “wild card”, giving judges the chance to save two acts from the semi-finals to perform at the headline show.

At the final, the judges’ vote will count as 50% of the mark but the audience will be called on to help choose the winning act.

A portion of money raised this year will also go towards Pendleside Hospice.

Application forms are available from Roy’s Jewellers, Moonline Fashions and Koko’s.

The Burnley Express video will be there on Friday night to film all the acts so come and down, and keep tuned to this site...
