Four organisations are stealing a march on making the Brunshaw area a safer place to live.
The Brunshaw Action Group has teamed up with neighbourhood police officers, the Fire and Rescue service and Calico Homes to hold weekly surgeries throughout the month, and hope to be able to give help and advice to residents.
Police experts will be on hand with guidance on preventing crime, and on community safety, while fire officers are offering to do home safety checks, advise residents about the measures they can take to prevent fire and, where possible, provide items such as smoke alarms and fire-proof bedding.
A neighbourhood officer from Calico will able to discuss any issues or concern about housing issues or needs, and members of the action group will look at what residents want to see happen in their area.
The surgeries will be on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. until the end of March.
