A BMX bike track for youngsters looks set to attract even more users to the thriving Padiham Greenway.

Work is set to begin on the track that will give children the chance to practise their skills and cycle safely away from busy roads, members of Padiham Town Council were told.

Coun. Bob Clark said: “The Greenway just seems to keep getting better and better. It is well used and while there are a few minor complaints about it, on the whole everyone in Padiham agrees it is a splendid facility, a real credit to the town.’’

The Mayor of Padiham, Coun. Howard Hudson, said he had cycled the Greenway himself and was pleased to see that so many families were using the facility.

Funding for the scheme came from a variety of bodies, including Padiham Town Council, and it took years of campaigning and planning to get the project off the ground.
