VIDEO: Singing Ringing Tree is a sight to behold

STANDING high above the town, Burnley’s panopitican is a sight set within a grander sight.

Designed by award-winning architects Tonkin-Liu, the unique musical sculpture (a low hum is audible from close range when the wind blows) certainly commands a closer look.

The futuristic 21st Century landmark, comprising pipes of galvanised steel in the shape of a tree blowing in the wind, was erected in 2006 and stands at 3 metres tall.

But as eye-catching and oddly mesmerising as this striking structure is, it’s the surrounding views, taking in Pendle Hill and miles of of spectacular rolling landscape, which are sure to take your breath away.
