FORMER Lancashire and England batsman and current cricket commentator David Lloyd did Lowerhouse proud on Tuesday evening when he opened the state-of-the-art outdoor netting area.
Despite the wet weather dozens of juniors and parents were able to attend along with club and nets sponsors.

The club would like to officially thank Lloyd for his generous offer to open the nets and to the following sponsors of the nets: Dan Birchall Tiling, CLA, Neville Gee, Humberstone's Jewellers and Santa's Pizzas.

The club would also like to thank Gordon Howley for the enormous hard work that he put into the project and the ECB who funded 75 per cent of the cost of the project.

Dan Musson of the ECB stated: "A grant of £56,014 was provided by the England and Wales CricketBoard in conjunction with the National Sports Foundation.

"Lowerhouse CC are a Clubmark and Focus club for the ECB."
