SPINNER James Banks was the star of the show at Clitheroe Cobras Under 15s progressed in the LCB Cup.
Banks claimed an incredible 7-2 off the 14 deliveries he sent down against Great Harwood.

And that allowed Clitheroe to bowl out their opponents for just 33 runs.
In reply, the Cobras had no difficulty knocking off the runs for a 10-wicket win as Liam Nuttall and Ross Dent both finished unbeaten on 14.

Clitheroe Under 13A started the defence of their Ribblesdale League title with a win against Feniscowles. Batting on a good wicket, Feniscowles struggled against some tight bowling and were limited to 53-8 from their 16 overs.

Pick of the bowlers were the spinners, Josh Bristol who finished with 2-3 and Danny Mort (2-5).

Clitheroe's opening pair of Edward Drake and Dave Robinson made a great start, putting on 29.

This was followed by the Bristol brothers, Sam and Josh, who added a further 31.

Once again, Josh Dean was on good form and pushed the run rate along in the later stages.

This saw the Chatburn Road side close their innings on 95-2.

In the Lancashire Cup against Great Harwood, the same side benefited from a great opening partnership between Dan Fitzgerald and Edward Drake.

Batting on a slow wicket, the opening pair put on 40 before Drake was run out.

Fitzgerald was joined at the crease by Sam Bristol and the pair kept the run rate ticking along at over seven runs per over.

A final flurry of runs at the end from Josh Dean and Niall Scorer saw the innings close on 96-2.

Great Harwood never recovered from some tight bowling from Clitheroe's opening bowlers who restricted them to 18 runs from the first six overs.

Ryan Cattermole, Saud Ahmed, Josh Dean and Andy Parkinson all bowled a consistent line and length to frustrate the opposition.

When Harwood tried to up the run rate, Rob Gibb came on to take two wickets in two balls and the tie was all but over.

The Under 9s opened their Lancashire League campaign with an emphatic victory over Bacup.

Knocks of 12 from Eli Smith and 26 from Harry Lang enabled the Cobras to amass 69 for the loss of no wickets.

When the Cobras took to the field, all round accurate bowling and tight fielding restricted the home side to 38-4, with debutant Daniel Kellington picking up 2-5.
