LOWERHOUSE go in search of their first win of the 2008 SponsorBank Lancashire League season tomorrow.
The West Enders travel to Rawtenstall, before hoping for double success with the visit of Enfield to Liverpool Road on Sunday.

Meanwhile, mid-table Burnley face Todmorden at Turf Moor for their first game of the weekend's double header, followed by a trip to early leaders Accrington on Sunday.

All four games see wickets pitched at 1-15 p.m.

Veka Ribblesdale Cricket League action sees the first derby of the season, as Read travel to Padiham on Saturday, wickets pitched at 1-30 p.m.

Burnley's second team got their season up and running with a comprehensive win over Rishton at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The visitors were invited to bat first and were shot down for a paltry 52 thanks to a fine spell of swing bowling from Tayyib Jamil.

His unerring accuracy and refusal to allow Rishton batsmen any balls to score from, resulted in him returning figures of 7-17 from his 11 overs of which six were bowled out.

In reply Burnley made short work of reaching their target for the loss of just one wicket, Matt Wall and Aneeq Hassan both finished 22 not out.

Burnley's third team start their campaign on Monday with a home game against Church.

Elsewhere, Lowerhouse seconds made short work of a Todmorden side who put up a decent fight after a morning selection crisis.

Todmorden were removed for 88 thanks to wickets by Joe Hawke (3-15), Max Howells (2-19), Ben Heap (2-20) and Matt Marquis (2-27), before Lowerhouse swept to victory by seven wickets.

Matt Doughty top- scored with 39 not out with further runs from Ben Heap (17) and Phil Haggerty (13).

A herculean mopping up operation allowed the Sunday second team fixture to start but repeated showers eventually halted proceedings after the end of a 32-over first innings.

Lowerhouse batted and scored 134-7 thanks to runs from Haggerty (32), Hawke (15), Marquis (12 not out), Paddy Howley (10) and Joe Beneduce (21).

There were three results from the West End junior section this week, starting with Lowerhouse Under 11 Koalas' game against Longridge that saw a strong bowling performance secure a tie.

Kean Craig scored 10 runs in Lowerhouse's 39-3 before Drew Holden took 2-6 to restrict their Ribble Valley opponents to 39-2.

An attacking bowling performance and solid batting display saw Lowerhouse's youngest Under 13s team beat their Longridge opponents.

Joe Simm (3-9) and Jamie Woodall (3-17) struck the best figures to reduce their opponents to 57-8, before undefeated knocks from Ben Gorton (18 not out) and Sam Snape (9 not out) saw the Cougars home at 58-1.

And Lowerhouse Under 9s began their league season with an emphatic win over an under strength Nelson.

The Pendle team scored 29-3 as Declan Stansfield removed 2-8, before Danny Faulkener and Luke Molloy top scored to power Lowerhouse on to 65-3.

Burnley Cricket Club are appealing once again for scorers for this season.
