LOWERHOUSE have named Brendan Drew as their vice captain.
The 24-year-old Tasmanian as be named second in command to Jon Finch at Liverpool Road.

And he will hope to help his side off the foot of the Sponsorbank Lancashire League this weekend, at Ramsbottom tomorrow and Nelson on Sunday.

Burnley will also look to end a less than promising start, with two home games against Enfield and Colne, with all games starting at 1-15 p.m.

And in the Ribblesdale League, Read travel to Barnoldswick tomorrow while Padiham host Oswaldtwistle Immanuel (wickets pitched 1-30 p.m.).
Meanwhile, an unbeaten 99 from Ben Heap helped Lowerhouse seconds record a third successive win.

Patrick Martin also hit 33 as the locals secured a six-wicket win over Rawtenstall.

Three wickets for Kieran Tighe and two each for Martin and Heap saw their opponents restricted to 173-7, before the House romped home.

However, a middle order collapse saw the third team lose by three runs against Haslingden.

Michael Lee grabbed two wickets as their opponents posted 181-5, before knocks from Matt Stansfield (32), Gavin Shields (30) and Chris Swift (15).

The Under 13s Lions began their campaign with a seven-wicket win over Longridge, with Declan Bailey (3-6), Ben Batley (2-7) and Max Humberstone (2-15) in the wickets.

Humberstone then hit an unbeaten 31 as the same side recorded a 51-run cup win against Accrington.

Jonny Whitehead (28), Max Howells (26) and Josh Whitehead (12) were in the runs as the Under 15s won their cup match with Accrington, posting 80-6 before restricting the opposition to 65-6.

Despite a wonderful catch from Conner Bethwaite, the Under 11 Cubs slipped to a five-wicket defeat to Rishton.

At Turf Moor, Nathan Whitehead scored nearly 200 runs for Burnley's second and third teams.

He registered his first senior half century, scoring 61 as the seconds posted 178-9 at Todmorden, with Michael Kelly adding 51.

And five wickets for Dave Shorrock, plus an opening three wicket burst for Chris Swift saw the hosts bowled out for 131.

Monday saw Burnley's third team host Church, with Whitehead again the star of the show.

He scored a magnificent 127 in Burnley's 209-9, adding 126 for the second wicket with Aiden Tate (41).

Church never threatened the target, bowled out for 155 thanks to wickets from Cameron Williams (3-36), Reece Whitehead (2-10) and Jonny O'Brien (2-28).

Burnley seconds' home game against Accrington on Sunday was abandoned due to the weather.

Meanwhile, their Under 13s lost by just three runs to Bacup.

Batting first, Burnley made 53-4 thanks to solid contributions from Brandon Watson (17), Matt Lamb (9) and George Scott (7).

An excellent bowling and fielding performance saw Bacup require 11 to win off the last two overs, but a couple of misfields saw them home.
Lamb grabbed 4-14, while Harry Spark added 1-16.

Padiham Cricket Club have appealed for all juniors – Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s – to report for training tonight, with new players welcome.
