Century partnership sees off Colne
A QUICKFIRE century partnership from Aneeq Hassan and Steven Whittaker led Burnley's second string to a convincing win over Colne.
The pair smashed 144 in just 15 overs, as both players hit the home bowling to all parts of the ground.
Whitaker was eventually dismissed for 69 and Hassan for 89, as Burnley ended the innings on 323-5.
And all that came after a bright start which saw a partnership of 81 between Daniel Pickup and Matt Wall, with the former completing his first half-century of the season.
And Burnley made light work of winning the game, thanks to a lively opening bowling spell from Chris Whitwell at his former club.
He moved the ball consistently off the pitch and returned figures of 5-42 from 10 overs, with Nathan Whitehead and Jonny O'Brien taking two wickets each as Colne were dismissed for 132.

A belligerent knock from Matt Locke setting up the win as the Cubs posted 96-4, with Amaz Darr then taking a great catch at mid off to help restrict Ramsbottom to 75-3.
