BRANDON Watson is the 18th recipient of the Craig Heaton Memorial Cricket Trophy.
The 13-year-old received the trophy prior to Burnley District Under 13s' match with Fylde at Lytham on Sunday, April 12th.

Brandon, who attends Unity College, was selected as the most improved player from all age groups – Under 11s to Under 15s – in which over 60 players took part.

He has been playing with Burnley Cricket Club for the past three years.
The trophy was presented by Jim Heaton, in honour of Craig, who tragically died in 1990, aged 20, with a promising cricket career in front of him.

For 16 years the trophy was presented at the Thompson Centre Burnley for the best boy on the junior cricket coaching scheme.

When the Thompson Centre closed two years ago, it was decided the trophy should be presented to the most improved player at the Burnley District Winter coaching sessions at the Spirit of Sport, organised by Stan Heaton and Qasim Ali.
