RIBBLESDALE Wanderers have added Nelson's Richard Meade and Russell Bradley to the fold ahead of their start at Read.
Captain and professional Joe Scuderi returns for a third season in charge, and has recruited the two Pendle players from his old Lancashire League club as an opening bowler and wicket keeper.

Meade was third leading wicket taker at Nelson in 2007, reaping 17 wickets for 338 runs.

Bradley scored 112 runs in seven innings for Nelson seconds and 401 runs for the thirds last season.

And experienced former Colne player Gary Hunt has also expressed an interest in playing the odd game for Scuderi's men when he can, now that BBC Radio Lancashire have axed their local coverage.

"We'll be looking to share runs and wickets evenly throughout the side this season, as those teams that tend to rely on certain players often struggle," said Scuderi.

"We've under- achieved the last couple of years, a lot of amateurs have moved around between clubs and to other competitions, and the league is quite open.

"We've got more depth this year. Settle, Baxenden and Edenfield look the strongest teams, but I expect a close season."

Read have selected former Burnley, Earby and Baxenden paid man Jon Harvey as captain and professional.

Will Driver and Matt Doughty have both left the club to try their hand in the Lancashire League with Lowerhouse.
