AWARD-WINNING Italian restaurant La Locanda has yet another achievement to add to its list!
The restaurant, in Gisburn, has been awarded the "Highest Quality Assured" accreditation from Taste Lancashire, which is rarely given. La Locanda achieved an overall score of 82% and was commended by the judge on the use of local produce teamed with traditional artisan cooking techniques and dishes.

As part of the Taste Lancashire scheme, establishments are visited annually and assessed. A "Highest Quality Assured" mark exists for venues that score over 80%.

La Locanda has also qualified for a Made in Lancashire award, given to businesses that use a large amount of local produce and are seen to be actively promoting it.

Says restaurant owner Cinzia Bocchi: "We are over the moon to have been given a 'Highest Quality Assured' mark at La Locanda and also thrilled to have qualified for a Made in Lancashire award as we are always trying to use as much local produce as possible.

"We tell customers where ingredients are sourced and detail this in the menu too: customers are always keen to know. Our combination of Italian recipes and cooking techniques teamed with fresh local produce seems to be a winning combination!"
