CHRIS McCann's sixth goal of the season gives the Clarets a deserved win over league leaders Wolves.
Owen Coyle named an unchanged side to face the league leaders at Turf Moor, sticking with the side that earned a 1-1 draw at Birmingham last Saturday.

Burnley: Jensen; Williams, Duff, Caldwell, Kalvenes; Elliott, Alexander, McCann, Blake; Thompson, Paterson. Subs: Penny, McDonald, Eagles, Rodriguez, Gudjonsson.

Wolves: Hennessey; Foley, Stearman, Berra, Ward; Kightly, Henry, Quashie, Jarvis; Vokes, Ebanks-Blake. Subs: Collins, Edwards, Keogh, Higgs, Iwelumo.

Martin Paterson makes his 100th league appearance of his career, looking to add to his 31 league goals in total.

5 mins - Karl Henry sees a daisy cutter saved by Brian Jensen after a scrappy start to the game.

6 mins - After Robbie Blake's superb lay off enables Chris McCann to pull the ball back, Martin Paterson is denied by Richard Stearman, but Rhys Williams feeds Wade Elliott, whose superb cross is headed in by McCann.

Burnley 1, Wolves 0

7 mins - Matthew Jarvis fires over after Elliott fails to clear.

16 mins - Wolves corner, taken by Michael Kightly, is cleared by McCann, but Kightly gets a second chance, and his cross is headed behind by Steven Caldwell.

21 mins - Kightly curls a free kick just wide which only required a touch.

23 mins - Graham Alexander's free kick is headed on by Caldwell, but just kept out by the nervy Wayne Hennessey, and Paterson's follow up is blocked.

27 mins - Burnley corner, taken by Blake, comes to nothing after a foul on Kevin Foley.

31 mins - Elliott attacks a Blake cross but heads over the angle.

Half-Time - Burnley 1, Wolves 0

56 mins - Burnley should be two up after Blake does superbly to find Elliott, and from his pass, McCann's shot is saved, and Paterson finds the side-netting.

Seconds later, Steven Thompson glances on Graham Alexander's pass, and Paterson races clear and rounds Hennessey, only to see his shot from a tight angle cleared off the line by Richard Stearman.

From the corner, Paterson is clearly held as he looks to turn in the box, but what looks a definite penalty is turned down.

This is like last week at Birmingham - Burnley simply have to take advantage of their dominance or pay the price.

59 mins - Chris Iwelumo for Sam Vokes and David Edwards for Nigel Quashie.

63 mins - Burnley corner taken by Blake comes to nothing.

66 mins - Iwelumo mis-kicks in front of goal from Kightly's cross.

68 mins - Kevin McDonald for Kalvenes.

Blake finds McDonald, who controls with his first touch, and curls over with his second.

73 mins - Another Burnley corner, taken by Blake, is claimed by Hennessey.

78 mins - Stearman heads Kightly's free kick wide.

80 mins - Rare Wolves corner, taken by Kightly. Referee spots a foul.

81 mins - Kightly again with a flag kick, claimed by Jensen.

82 mins - McCann over the top after Paterson dummied Alexander's pass.

Chris Eagles replaces Paterson.

85 mins - Another Burnley corner, taken by Blake, is cleared.

89 mins - Wolves corner, taken by Kightly is thumped away by Eagles.

90+2 mins - Jay Rodriguez for Thompson.

Full-Time - Burnley 1, Wolves 0
Attendance: 13,515
