BURNLEY have one foot in the play-offs after beating rivals Sheffield United at Turf Moor.
It was a clash of footballing styles on a dramatic night.

United were more physical and direct and lucky to have all 11 players on the pitch by the break.
In the end, Martin Paterson's first half goal was enough to mean that just one win now separates the Clarets from a place in the play-off semi-finals.

2 minutes - Wade Elliott picked up the ball in midfield and broke to the edge of the United area where he beat Paddy Kenny with a left foot shot that wrapped against the upright.
4 minutes - Another good break this time on the right, saw Chris Eagles attempt to pick out Martin Paterson but Chris Morgan headed the ball clear.
6 minutes - Robbie Blake and Christian Kalvenes combined well on the left for the latter to pick out Chris McCann with a deep cross, but his header flashed wide of the target.
10 minutes - Eagles outpaced Gary Naysmith on the right and hit a cross that was just too deep for the advancing Blake.
14 minutes - Greg Halford had United's first chance with a 20-yard free kick which Brian Jensen spilled for a corner. That corner was cleared for another and Graham Alexander eventually cleared the danger.
16 minutes - Jamie Ward replaced Naysmith in a tactical switch to try and nullify Eagles' pace.

23 minutes - Patient build-up on the right involving four Clarets won a throw in and Rhys Williams crossed for Martin Paterson to head home his first Turf Moor goal since November and his first in 13 matches.
31 minutes - Karl Naughton's free kick found Stephen Quinn on the edge of the area but his shot flew high and wide from United's first real chance.
38 minutes - Free kick for Burnley on the left for a foul by Ward on Kalvenes but Kenny caught Blake's cross.
43 minutes - Williams and Kalvenes combine well to deny Beattie a shot on goal. Jensen got a touch to the corner which reached Henderson and Stephen Caldwell did well to delfect his first time shot for another corner. Jensen cleared that flag kick for another and as the pressure continued to build the Blades won a fourth corner. Quinn fired in that corner but Caldwell got another header on to it and the Clarets eventually cleared to launch and attack of their own.
45+1 minutes - Graham Alexander released Paterson who made room for a shot but Kenny collected it.

48 minutes - Excellent link up play between Kalvenes, Alexander and Blake presented Elliott with a chance for an angled drive that Kenny collected.
50 minutes - Halford's goalbound header was athetlically cleared by Clarke Carlisle. Corner comes to nothing for the Blades.
52 minutes - Blake twisted and turned for a short corner routine and presented McCann with the chance to seal victory but Kenny produced the svae of the night to deny him.
59 minutes - United free kick worked to Beattie in the area but his powerful shot lacked direction.
62 minutes - Blake feeds McCann to go on a surging run down the left and return the ball to Blake who stung Kenny's fingers with a rasping drive.
70 minutes - Lee Hendrie replaced Stephen Quinn.
74 ninutes - Carlisle makes three more telling clearances as United look to pile forward in search of an equaliser.
76 minutes - Arturo Lupoli for Beattie.
80 minutes - Joey Gudjonsson for Robbie Blake.
85 minutes - Jay Rodriguez for goalscorer Paterson.
87 minutes - Gudjonsson tries his luck from the edge of the area but drags his shot wide of the target.
90 minutes - The fourth official signals an astonishing five minutes of stoppage time.
90=2 minutes - Burnley win a corner for Eagles persistance.
