A BURNLEY businessman has been rewarded for his hard work and dedication after recovering from a breakdown.
Upholsterer Mr Phil Rothwell was awarded champion status by the No Limits project for his efforts in promoting the scheme and supporting his local community.

Mr Rothwell, who runs Traditional and Modern Furniture, suffered a breakdown a few years ago but following his recovery was helped by the No Limits project to put together the finance for his business.

"It used to be as a business there was no support but now, with No Limits, there is somewhere to go and discuss any problems I am having," said Mr Rothwell. "The scheme is excellent and I am proud to be awarded the status of champion."

Champions are chosen after using the finance and support offered by No Limits to overcome barriers to successfully start their own businesses.

Deputy leader of Lancashire County Council Doreen Pollitt, who presented Mr Rothwell with his award, said: "Lancashire County Council has a proud tradition of supporting businesses, whether that is through finance with schemes like Rosebud, or by working in partnership with schemes such as No Limits.

"Phil is a shining example of that support. He is someone who has faced severe hardship in his life but thanks to the support he has received is now able to stand on his own two feet, run a successful business and support his local community."
