Giant Jenga on Puzzled by Business roadshow
INDUSTRY expertise, business advice and access to grants drew in a new generation of Pendle business owners – that and a giant Jenga!
The Puzzled by Business roadshow, touring Lancashire, has provided one-to-one advice to local people interested in starting a business in construction-related fields.
The events, in Nelson town centre and Colne's Primet Community Centre, were presented by Elevate, the £160m. housing renewal programme.
Elevate wants local people to be involved in reconstructing Pennine Lancashire's housing and is keen to encourage new businesses to start and to grow.
Advice, training, support and grants are available to new businesses from across the construction trades, crafts and professions – plumbers and bricklayers, site managers and building surveyors can all benefit.
Donna Marshall, of Elevate's Constructing the Future programme, said: "So many people work in or are interested in the construction industry and don't realise the benefits they can reap from working for themselves.
"People are simply puzzled by the idea of running a business, but we are here to make the transition to running a business clear to understand and achievable."
