SCHOOL leavers from Burnley gained an insight into the world of work at a jobs fair.
Employers and Training 2000 staff and apprentices spoke to young people about opportunities in engineering, automotive, dental, care, business administration and construction.

Representatives of Gardner Aerospace and Hycrome were among those looking for apprentices.

Karen Gorman, of Gardner Aerospace, which is seeking six apprentices, said: "The business is developing all the time and we know we need to invest in our young people and give them the opportunity to grow with us."

Mr Steve Kelly, of Hycrome, which takes on four Training 2000 apprentices each year, said the company had 70 applications for apprenticeships.

Training 2000 chief executive Mr Steve Gray said the number of enthusiastic teenagers who attended had made the event worthwhile.
