recruitment AFTER eight years working nationwide in the fast-paced world of commercial recruitment, former Ribblesdale School pupil Claire Tierney has returned to her Ribble Valley roots and set up a new business that's a far cry from her high pressurised past.
Claire (32), who hails from Waddington, has set up Paint Pot, a "paint your own" pottery studio at Backridge Farm where customers can paint their own pre-cast pottery, if they're an artist or not.

Claire said: "My inspiration for Paint Pot came while living in Devon. I was visiting friends and they took their children along to a similar business and we all ended up having a go. It's extremely therapeutic and a great way to unwind."

Claire added: "I was looking to take my career in a new direction and thought the concept would prove very popular in the Ribble Valley; and with the help of my Mum we found a fantastic studio space at Backridge Farm where I used to play when I was a child, and Paint Pot was born."

The business opened just after Christmas and is already proving a popular choice not only for children's parties, but with schools, after-school clubs, nursing homes and adult social groups, too. Claire has also started a monthly "ladies night", which is proving popular.

"As well as being able to offer painting at the studio itself, I'm able to visit customers at their premises making it accessible for all," Claire explained. "It's not just for children, anyone can have a go and at the end of the session you have your very own piece of pottery that you can take away with you."

For more information about workshops call Claire on 01200 422344 or visit the studio at The Stables, Backridge Farm, Twitter Lane, Waddington.
