A successful mentoring project, which supports new and growing companies, is calling for experienced Burnley business people to join its ranks and pass on the secrets to success.
The Guardian Angel Entrepreneurs Network is looking for current or former senior business people from the area to volunteer for the role and reap the rewards of seeing their subjects flourish.

The mentors are paired with businesses in need of help and advice and guide them through the issues that could be preventing them from realising their full potential.

Run by Community and Business Partners (CBP), a partner in No Limits, the project has seen great success across Pennine Lancashire and needs more guardians to sign up to ensure that success continues.

Jane Houghton-Fenning, business development manager for CBP, said they were looking for Burnley people from a wide variety of backgrounds who could be involved with the project.

She said: "The kind of Guardian Angels we need have time to listen and knowledge and experience to pass on. They help growing businesses become more successful and their help is free.

"The process is informal and the paperwork is kept to a minimum. There is no minimum time limit that a Guardian needs to spend with their company and there is no contract. We recognise that our Guardians are volunteers and have different demands on their time and so we leave them and the company owners/managers to forge relationships that are mutually beneficial by nature and time

"What we look for is people with the necessary skill and experience to pass on ‹ plus we look to match the right personalities.

"For the Guardian Angels, who may have been very fortunate in their business life, it is a way of giving something back."

For more information or to put yourself forward, contact Jane at Blackburn's CBP on 01254 505050 or email jane@cbpartners.org.

No Limits has secured an initial £30m of government funding to regenerate the Pennine Lancashire economy through supporting new and growing businesses, creating up to 14,000 jobs and 4,000 companies over the next decade. The No Limits partnership includes Lancashire County Council, the local authorities of Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle as well as Burnley FC, Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers.
