THE 29th Pinhaw Fell Race was run in almost perfect conditions and was dominated by a 17-year-old newcomer.
Ryan Gould from East Cheshire held off Clayton's Gary Shaw by seven seconds to win this six mile race in a time of 31.34.
Wharfedale's Kirt Livesey was third but he was also the first veteran home.
Local lad Tony Chew finished fourth and was also the first veteran 45.
The ladies race was won by Sue Burns in a time of 38.28.
She was also the first lady veteran home.
Trawden's Molly Ralphson was second and was also the second lady veteran.
Young Sarah Yeomans from Rossendale was third and the first lady under 20.
Two records broken on the night with Ted Orrell (Clayton) destroying the former Veteran 70 record by over seven minutes and he now holds Pinhaw records in three different age groups.
In the ladies race Karin Goss (Clayton) sliced one minute and 12 seconds of the previous lady veteran 60 record.
In total 119 runners completed the race and the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix moves on to Colne with the Lions 10k on Friday at 7 p.m.
