ANOTHER successful Althams Sunday School Snooker League season came to an end with the annual presentation at Burnley Boys' Club.
On the league front, Haggate beat Briercliffe Road B to the title as St Matthew's A accounted for Burnley Boys' Club A in the final of the League Cup.

The Boys' Club team also got to the final of the Althams Cup, but on this occasion they missed out against St Matthew's B.

The Individual Knockout Final was an all Boys' Club affair with Lee Graham beating Simon Lawless.

And the Boys' Club also got their hands on the Doubles Knockout crown as Joe Bartle and Simon Mackelt accounted for Briercliffe Road's Alan Ashworth and Brian Hanson.

Tony Ashton of Briercliffe Road won the Ken Wadge Masters when he beat Gordon Merrifield of Haggate.

And team-mate Les Proctor claimed the billiards crown by beating Greenbrook's Brent Stevenson in the final.

Walter Jackson of St Matthew's was named most improved player; Ian Bannister, also of St Matthew's, was named sportsman of the year.

And Simon Lawless recorded the highest breaks in both the league and knockout competitions.

Peter Mackie of Althams Travel was on hand to make the presentations.
