Richard signs for Oldham
HAMELDON Community College pupil Richard Cowan has signed for League 1 Oldham Athletic.
The Year 11 schoolboy has been snapped up on a two-year apprenticeship at Boundary Park, following successful trials with the Latics.
Richard was released by Burnley after three years with the Clarets' centre of excellence, and is also the town's sole representative in the Lancashire Under 16 side, who have reached the final of the Northern Counties Cup, where they will face Northumberland at Blyth Spartans.
Richard would like to thank all the coaches at Burnley Football Club for the three years he was there, and Dave Cookson from Belvedere Juniors, where Richard started out.
