BURNLEY Council's popular Scream and Shout holiday scheme has lined up an exciting programme of free activities to banish the summer blues.
This year will see a number of traditional multi-sports camps at venues across the area, a programme for ages 5-10, healthy lifestyles programme for 7-13-year-olds, street dance for over 15s, and various event days and Sports in Padiham for all the family.
On the final two days of each of the Shout sports camps, youngsters will also get the chance to take part in ten pin bowling, ice skating, snowboarding, and even a trip to Camelot theme park.
Coun. Charles Bullas, the council's executive member for leisure and culture, said: "The programme offers young people the chance to get active and really increase their skill levels, while meeting new people and enjoying new activities that they may not have tried before.
"This summer we have worked with a number of partners to promote a more thorough and wide-ranging programme to make sure there's something for everyone."
The full programme of activities has been distributed to most schools in the borough. It can also be found on the council's website www.burnley.gov.uk, or can be collected from Contact Centre, Parker Lane, St Peter's Leisure Centre, Spirit Of Sport Centre, Ormerod Road, and Padiham Leisure Centre, Station Road.
