Club's six of the best!
BURNLEY Muay Thai Boxing Club shook off the excesses of the festive period in style in Farnworth.
After getting down to some serious work in the Hammerton Street gym since the turn of the year, six of the club's fighters were in action at the weekend.
Nadeem Roza, who, like Lee Harrison is awaiting his first professional bout in May, dominated his cruiserweight contest with a superb performance, while light heavyweight Harrison, despite losing the first round, proved too strong in the next two to emerge a convincing winner.
Johnny Townson nicked a very close, hard-fought fight at welterweight, and George Sinclair was an overwhelming points winner at light heavyweight.
Ryan Spencer lost a points decision at light heavyweight, but showed tremendous character to come back from losing the first two rounds to have his opponent on the backfoot in the third.
Eddie Blake was due to fight at super heavyweight, but his opponent decided against taking the fight, and he was forced to do a demonstration instead.
The six are again competing tomorrow in Walkden, along with middleweights Neil Fraser and Mick Sinclair.
