Clarets legend is star guest

PADIHAM Town Hall was packed to capacity for Readstone United's annual presentation evening.

Chairman Paul Clarke welcomed the players and parents before complimenting them on another successful season.

He also thanked the managers for all their hardwork throughout the campaign.

The compere for the evening was Jon Nuggett, the girls' team coach, and he introduced the guest for the evening Clarets legend Martin Dobson who returned to Turf Moor last September as director of youth development.

The Burnley icon presented Geoff Lambert with the Charter Mark Plaque which the club obtained this year, before presenting the youngsters with their winners medals.

Roll of honour

Under 7s: Most enthusiastic, Alisdair Moir; most improved, Lewis Taylor.

Under 8s Blue: Player of the year, Joel Bentley; sportsperson, Adam Collison; most entusiastic Ben Dinning. Under 8s Yellow: Player of the year, Lee Wild; sportsperson, Alex Bell; most enthusiastic, Morgan Crowther.

Under 9s Blue: Player of the year, John Houston; sportsperson, Dean Mourhouse; most enthusiastic, Seb Swarbrick.

Under 9s Yellow: Player of the year, William Wrathall; sportsperson, Max Laird; most enthusiastic, Callum Roberts.

Under 10s: Player of the year, Jack Southern; sportsperson, Tom Bridge; players' player, James Davies.

Under 11s: Player of the year, Charlie Slinger; sportsperson, Alex Atherton; players' player, Zac Bywater.

Under 12s: Player of the year, Daniel Ashton; sportsperson, Daniel Heap; players' player, Drew Rushden.

Under 16s: Player of the year, Danny Morton; sportsperson, Sam Langford; players' player, Hugh Ainsworth.

Under 16s girls: Player of the year, Niamh Morton; sportsperson, Leah Smits; most enthusiastic, Sophie Tomlinson.
Player of the season: Juniors, John Houston; Seniors, Danny Morton; Girls, Gabbie Preugscart.

Under 16s: Long service award – Ben Yerkess, Elliot Bywater, Adam Greenwood and Sam Langford.

Chairmans award: Louise Collinson.

Club person of the year, Steve Bell.

In addition to the Readstone players' awards the club won the following league honours:
Under 16s boys: League Sportsman Trophy. Under 16s girls: League and cup runners up. Under 12s: Consolation Cup runners up.
