A BURNLEY man was taken to hospital with minor head injuries after being assaulted by racist thugs.
The 26-year-old Asian man was walking along Brennand Street, in the Duke Bar area of Burnley, at 6-10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th, when he was approached by three white men who began a verbal argument with him.
They shouted racist language before
assaulting him, leaving him with injuries to the head.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital but was not admitted.
Police are now hunting the three men and are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
The first attacker is aged between 18 and 20, 5ft. 8in. tall and of medium build.
He has brown spiky hair and was wearing a black jacket and black trousers with black leather shoes.
The second man police want to speak to is of a similar age and is also 5ft. 8in. tall.
He is of slim build with short brown spiky hair and was wearing a white jumper with black and grey lines going across it.
Police say the third attacker is 5ft. 7in. tall, also with short brown spikey hair.
He was wearing a navy blue jacket and black trousers.
Sgt Phil Carter of Burnley police said: "This was an unprovoked and nasty attack on a 26-year-old man and we will not tolerate this kind of racial abuse."
