BURNLEY'S Mayor is to take to the skies this weekend.
The special trip at the 635 Voluntary Gliding School in Samlesbury has been arranged by Burnley Air Training Corps 352 Squadron as a thank you to Coun. Peter McCann for his work with them during his time in office.

The Mayor will travel to Samlesbury on Sunday before getting the chance to go up in a Vigilant T1 glider.

The Mayor said: "I am absolutely looking forward to it. It is something I've never done before. At short notice we got permisssion, weather permitting. It was a surprise, they asked us if we would be interested, and the next thing I knew it had been agreed."
