RUSH hour motorists travelling on the M65 yesterday faced long tail-backs after a distressed Padiham woman was spotted on the bridge at junction 5 at Guide, Blackburn.
The incident, which happened around 5 p.m., caused traffic chaos and prompted police to close that section of motorway in both directions for two hours.

Motorists were directed off the motorway at junction 5 by police and instructed to rejoin after the bridge.

Police say the 36-year-old woman was "in some distress". She was coaxed down by specially trained police negotiators.
