THE family of tragic tot Levi Bleasdale have spoken about the blue-eyed, blonde-haired little girl who was the apple of their eye.
Little Levi, who would have been four in January and was looking forward to going to school, died in hospital in the early hours of Saturday with her family at her bedside after being knocked down by a car as she crossed Ormerod Road in Burnley last Friday morning.
Levi had been transferred to Pendlebury Children's Hospital in Manchester and placed on a life-support machine, but her injuries were too severe and she passed away peacefully.
This week her heartbroken family are struggling to come to terms with the loss of the little girl they said was "very special".
"Our lives will never be the same again, she was the apple of our eye," said Mrs Yvonne Townsend, who is the aunt of Levi's mum, 21-year-old Kirsty Ryan, who was with the toddler and her other child, six-month-old baby daughter Brogan, when Levi was struck by the car.
Kirsty and Brogan are staying with Mrs Townsend and her husband, Kevin, at their home in Coniston Avenue, Padiham, but Kirsty is too overcome with grief to speak about her loss.
Mrs Townsend, who held Levi in her arms after she died, said: "I was with her when she was born and I never thought I would be with her when she died.

"We haven't even been to the scene yet, we can't face it and I don't know if we ever will. Other members of the family have been to see the flowers and messages that have been left there and we have been overwhelmed with cards and messages from wellwishers.
"But nothing will bring our Levi back whatever we say or do. She was such a bright, sensible little girl. She seemed older than four, she was a proper little mum and was always playing with Brogan, playing at houses, polishing and cleaning and playing with her dolls."
Mrs Townsend, who runs the cafe at Northbridge House in Elm Street, Burnley, said Levi had spent last Thursday afternoon there with her mum and sister playing and talking to the customers and one of them had poignantly drawn her a picture with her name on.
"She was special. We can never replace her. Everyone who knew her loved her to bits. It's all so sad and so tragic."
Levi's mum is a former pupil of St Leonard's Primary School in Padiham and Habergham High School and is the daughter of Mr Michael Ryan of Burnley and Mrs Catherine Ryan of Wasdale Close, Padiham, who is too distraught to speak publicly about her granddaughter.
She has three other daughters Keely, Gemma and Siobhan and a son, Kevin, who have all been supporting their sister. Levi's devastated great-grandmother, Mrs Rose Gamble, also lives in Wasdale Close, and many of the large extended family live in Padiham. Levi's father, Lee Bleasdale and his family also live in Padiham and are also struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
